The film written by Reitman and Gil Kenan will tell the story of the Oct. 11, 1975 launch of Saturday Night Live. LaBelle will play SNL creator Lorne Michaels. Cooper Hoffman will take on the role of Dick Ebersol, then NBC's director of weekend late-night programming who hired Michaels and helped develop SNL. Sennott will play SNL writer Rosie Shuster, who was married to Michaels at the time and who wrote some of the show's most iconic sketches.
